Attorney Amy Garrard is committed to ensuring that the businesses she works with overcome legal challenges and get results. Ms. Garrard works with both public and private companies of all sizes.

Ms. Garrard has represented clients before a variety of legal and administrative courts and boards. That includes federal and state courts; the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission; the Florida Commission on Human Relations; the Department of Labor; the Florida Public Employees Relations Commission; the National Labor Relations Board; and the Division of Administrative Hearings.

Ms. Garrard has successfully defended companies in a variety of business law cases, and regularly provides day-to-day advice and administrative and litigation services. She offers proactive advice, helping your company prepare effective human resources policies and procedures, handbooks and agreements. Amy Garrard started her career at a larger firm. That experience led her to realize that she could provide better service, more closely focused on clients’ specialized needs, at a small law practice. She understood that many small and mid-sized businesses and public entities could better accomplish their needs with more personalized care. She joined the law firm of Boatman Ricci of counsel in order to provide that personalized care to a broad range of clients.

Amy has provided counsel for both private and public entities. Her clients have included cable companies; public and private schools; cities; foundations; beverage distributors; health care facilities; homeowners associations; funeral homes; property management companies, and more. She has litigated a variety of cases for clients, as well as counseling companies on human resources and employment best practices. This counsel was designed to help companies to be proactive in a way that could keep them from unintentionally making legal mistakes that could lead to severe legal problems.

In addition to litigation services, she counsels employers on labor, employment and human resources best practices. That includes providing guidance on how to keep employment applications updated and well-prepared handbooks. Her services include training programs for supervisors and managers on how companies can meet requirements and standards in their hiring and firing practices.
