Stephen C. Schahrer grew up in Naples, Florida and has spent most of his life there. Stephen graduated from Gulf Coast High School. He then earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University. Stephen continued his studies at Liberty University School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor. He then returned to Naples and began working as a commercial and business litigation attorney with Boatman Ricci.
Stephen handles legal matters for clients from “all walks of life” in the area of business and commercial litigation including business litigation, construction defect and lien litigation, real estate litigation, general contract litigation, and trust and estate litigation. Stephen also serves as outside General Counsel to several local businesses and nonprofits. Stephen considers it the highest compliment he can receive when—after assisting a client through a difficult legal conflict—the client asks Stephen to continue to represent them, helping navigate future legal issues.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Stephen had a diverse professional history including experience working for the Florida State Legislature, the United States Marshals Service headquarters in Washington D.C., and the local non-profit, St. Matthew’s House. Stephen also had the honor of serving as Chief Administrative Officer of Better Together—a local non-profit dedicated to serving families and children in Collier County (and beyond). Stephen leverages his unique experience in both the business and non-profit sector to help his clients navigate difficult legal issues with an eye toward the practical and business considerations at stake in any matter.
Stephen has been recognized as an AV-Preeminent Rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating an attorney can receive for their professional ethics and legal ability by their peers and the judiciary. Stephen is also honored to received the Client Champion Platinum Award from Martindale Hubbell which is awarded based upon client reviews.
Stephen believes that his most valuable asset as a lawyer (and a human) is his faith. Stephen firmly believes in the power of prayer and believes that his faith in Christ makes him an effective and passionate advocate for his clients. Stephen is not only a fierce advocate but also genuinely cares for his clients and their businesses and families. Stephen earnestly seeks to be Truth Guided, Relationship Driven in everything he does.
Outside of his practice, Stephen enjoys spending time with his wife, Rhya, and three young children. Rhya is a preschool teacher at Seacrest Country Day School where their children attend school. Stephen is also an avid Martial Artist and active member of his church, Hope City Church in Bonita Springs, FL. Stephen and his wife serve in their church in various roles but most treasure their time serving in children’s ministry. Stephen is an active member of the local community serving as a Host Family with Better Together and as a Board Member of Parkinson’s Association of Southwest Florida.
