Approximately 7% of Florida lawyers hold Board Certification, the Bar’s highest recognition of legal expertise.

Naples, FL. August 18, 2025. Boatman Ricci is pleased to announce that Stephen C. Schahrer, Esq., has been officially Board Certified in Business Litigation by The Florida Bar — a distinction held by only about 218 attorneys statewide.

Board Certification denotes exceptional legal knowledge, tested expertise, and upheld professionalism in a particular field, setting certified lawyers apart as trusted leaders in their areas of practice. 

A lifelong resident of Naples, Stephen Schahrer holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from Liberty University School of Law, as well as a B.A., summa cum laude, and an M.P.A. from Florida Gulf Coast University. 

Prior to joining Boatman Ricci, Stephen gained invaluable experience through roles with the Florida State Legislature, the U.S. Marshals Service, and local nonprofit organizations. He subsequently returned to Naples to build his legal career, focusing on complex business and commercial litigation, including construction defect claims, real estate disputes, contract controversies, and trust and estate litigation. 

Stephen is also recognized by Martindale‑Hubbell with an AV‑Preeminent Rating and was honored with the Client Champion Platinum Award, based on outstanding client reviews. He is deeply committed to his community both professionally and personally, serving numerous businesses and nonprofits as outside general counsel while remaining “Truth Guided, Relationship Driven” in his approach.

Schahrer, a Naples, Florida native, earned his Juris Doctor from Liberty University School of Law after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University. As an AV-Preeminent Rated attorney with a Board Certification in Business Litigation, he practices commercial and business litigation at Boatman Ricci, representing clients in business, construction, real estate, contract, and trust litigation. With prior experience at the Florida State Legislature, the U.S. Marshals Service, and local nonprofits like St. Matthew’s House and Better Together, Stephen leverages his diverse background to provide practical legal solutions, guided by his strong Christian faith and commitment to client relationships. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Rhya, and their three children, practicing martial arts.
